1996 Azure - Front passenger seat removal

The carpet under the front passenger seat has become all loose, and it needs flattening out and probably sticking down.

I'm wary of the electrics and maybe activating/de-activating the air-bag and all that that would entail, if I try to take the seat off its runners.

Even just removing the squab would help. Any ideas about how best to proceed, please?
