4 1/4 replacement air filters

I have spent some time overhauling the air silencer on our M Series 4 1/4 B94MR. I noticed that the paper air filters that are referenced in the technical manual are no longer available from FRAM so I set about finding an alternative. After a significant time searching the internet I came across a company called RICO EUROPE who supply filters for many industrial applications. Their website search allowed me to enter the dimensions of the original wire mesh filter that was fitted to the car, the nearest alternative is their part number SL81159. I ordered 3 and have since fitted one to the car, it's a perfect fit with no modification. They seem to be very well made and have a greater filtered area than the FRAM filter. It begins with "B", and is probably in the MR series.

Quintin/ Christopher, B 120 KU is now breathing ALOT easier!
As you guys will find out I'm hands on and fast.... Very Happy

The filter is PERFECT!
Dont even bother trying to find an off brand, Im in New York and the filter came from. Europe in 2 days!
The original set up by todays standards is really , weak, smelly and dirty.
It fits perfect and the front and back seal on the filter seals it all.
I put my hand over the scallops after starting ,it actually sucks your hand in.
WONDERFUL upgrade which no one can see.
On the road , its a hair lower temp! , better idle and pull from second to third is obvious with more air, without the HISS of a K+ N filter.
I wish I could post pics but the site is a tad old.....
THANK YOU GUYS, THIS REALLY WAS A GOOD SWAP.

Yes it fits the KU series and ALL the rest with the round can filter housing.

Hi Joey,

Please check the chassis number as the "KU" series are all odd numbers.

A free air filter and a full flow oil filter will double the engine life between overhauls.

This example was "home made" from proprietary parts.

A bit further on (2017), and running! The whole jalopy was built up from a long time collection of parts, on a so called "M" series chassis.
The only remaining parts of which are the frame and bulk head.
The M series steering gear was not available,and a pre M set had to suffice.

The M series drillings are about 4" in front of the early ones and are evident just by the yellow wire.

The car has a new, sporty body made in Derby and is pictured in the recent book, "Last of the Silent Sports Cars."

Just a follow up, I have done aprox, 200 miles since the filter and with original champion plugs gapped at 20, I can idle this car now to 450!
The fresh air makes a big improvement.
I also like the original lb-8 plugs over the ngk and adapters.
I run ngk in mostly all my cars, but the original lb-8 I find are better.
