The following link was passed to me by Stuart Ulph, I thought the photos quite splendid.

Interesting,

They are Bertie Kensington Moir and Dr Benjafield, in No 10.

Are you sure? I thought Capt Duff was supposed to be the driver of no. 10. The race report makes no mention of either gentlemen that you mention. Or was one of them the “riding mechanic”?

The photos and race that I was referring to is from 1923 and was the Gran Premio de Turismos at San Sebastian, which took place after the 1923 Le Mans. Driver was Duff.

The photo you have posted is of the 1925 Le Mans entry, coincidentally no. 10 as well, driven as you say by Muir and Benjafield. It is a different car.

Lovely photos.
There is a brief account of this race on page 8 of the 3L Profile Publication which you can read here;

Sadly captain Duff was hit by a stone causing him to crash.
His encounters with objects we don't currently associate with motorsport continued in the September '23 Georges Boillot Cup at Boulogne, where he collided with a cow during practice. The fate of the cow appears not to have been recorded.
