I have a 2008 Continental GT which I'm told by my dealer has a leak on a vacuum system at the rear of the engine bay with a pump on one side and a pipe matrix going from the pump across the rear of the engine bay to the other side.
I'm not sure what this does but I am being advised to get the issue fixed by replacing the pipe matrix
Whilst I have no problem with that concept, the new pipe matrix is I'm told about £1000, the main issue I have is that apparently the engine and transmission has to be removed in order to gain access to the pipe matrix. The cost of the labour is £200/hour and it's a 20 hour time frame to complete the work.
Does anyone know if this is actually neccessary and if so is there a work around. Or does anyone know of a reliable garage that could do the job at a more reasonable cost. |
