Morning. I've just purchased a 2016 Bentley Continental GTC 6 Litre W12. I've been having issues filling the petrol tank. The fuel nozzle keeps stopping as it believes the tank is full. I assumed it must be a blocked charcoal filter or air issue but have been told by Bentley that the W12 doesn't have a charcoal filter. Bentley Manchester have quoted me £11,500 to change the fuel tank. I can't believe that a new tank is required on such a new car with only 25,000 miles recorded. Has anybody else had a similar issue. I've spoken to a couple of Bentley specialists who are looking into this but haven't come across it. Other than this issue the car runs beautifully.
I look forward to receiving assistance. Thank you.

I don't know any specifics on the CGT regarding this, but I can't imagine how a new fuel tank would resolve this issue.

I find some fuels to be pretty foamy, and as it foams up it will try to come out the inlet, thus triggering the nozzle to shut off.

That can vary some by station, and I *think* higher concentration of ethanol may increase the foaming.

When I have had this issue, the only solution is to just fill the tank more slowly, and sometimes re-positioning the nozzle helps as well. Hopefully some other owners can chime in if this is a common issue on the model, but I've had that problem in several cars along the way.
