Hello,
can anyone advise on whats normal for engine breathing on big bore mk6,
my engine was breathing v very heavy from breather pipe, just had partial rebuild (bores , pistons , rings etc) first 50 miles no noticeable breathing at all,
after 100 miles very very faint breathing from pipe on tickover and with revs but sounds and drives so much better, would you say this is normal ?

Thanks
Alan.

Yes.
You are always going to experience some blow-by from the pistons, as the piston ring seal is never 100%, it can't be or the engine would seize.

Some misguided people believe that blow-by gases are from "exhaust gas recirculation", and the fools have caused me some consternation in the past.
